We’ve hit 10K followers!
Hi everyone! Today the Mrs. Stafford Community hit a major milestone.
We have reached 10,000 followers on Facebook!
This means that we are now 10,000 voices strong, and that is pretty amazing!
I first just want to say how much I appreciate the positivity and support from everyone. I have said this over and over again, to my family and friends, that the people who follow us are the kindest, most helpful and caring people I’ve ever seen on social media. You all support and wish the best for each other. Your graciousness and courtesy shine through.
The internet is a scary place to put yourself out there. People can be cruel and say some mean things on social media. That’s why I am so impressed with this community. There has been no hate, just love. So thank you for that, it is the number one thing I am most proud of!
Mrs. Stafford Blog was about two years in the making. It took this long because, at the time, I didn’t have the confidence to pursue it. I was insecure and nervous about making myself vulnerable, especially on social media. Also, I doubted that anyone would want to listen to what I have to say. I know a lot of women have felt this way at some point in their life, where they doubted themselves or felt their opinions may not matter. But then there were various reasons that encouraged me to pull the trigger and actually go through with it.
First, my family played a big part in suggesting I start a blog. One reason was my knowledge of beauty. Any skincare or beauty questions my girls asked, I always had an answer to. I mean makeup and beauty products really did become a fun hobby for me. Trying new creams and treatments was what I enjoyed doing in my free time. Eventually, I started giving skincare regimens to the young girls at the gym, as well as women my age. I was surprised that things I thought were common knowledge was actually new information to most of my friends.
Another reason why I wanted to start the blog was that I noticed a gap in the market for women my age. There are a plethora of 20-something lifestyle bloggers who I enjoy following. I just didn’t see the issues that me or women my age are dealing with being discussed.
There are so many different stages in a woman’s life. Entering each decade brings its own rewards and challenges. Turing 60 really felt quite freeing, it helped me become confident in my own skin. When I was going through menopause, I knew I was lost at times and on my own to find answers.
My theory has always been that there is an answer to every problem. You may not like the answer, but there is an answer. Since I have the knowledge from firsthand experience, I thought sharing the information I learned would help those women who are currently going through it. Prepare other women to know what to expect and hear from women like me who have climbed that mountain to share their own experiences.
Now that our community has grown, I want to use our voices to help each other. I’ve shared my stories with you – now how about you share your stories?
“Let us know what life challenges you have faced, your successes, your wisdom, or questions that you would like answers to in the comments down below.”
Let’s now try to use these 10,000 voices to empower each other to be the best we can be each day!
All of you have made this platform what it is, and I thank you all.
I love all of your advice. Reading your blog has given me a lot of tools to work with.
I’m so happy Donna. Thank you so much for your input. I hope you continue to follow and enjoy. Please let me know topics you would like me to discuss too.
